Seagull
"Chips" was found stranded on the beach front of Beachmere. Chips is very underweight and weak and has been admitted to the intensive care unit to gain weight before release.
White Ibis
Scar a White Ibis found in West Caloundra with a superficial wound to his left leg. Scar has been given a course of antibiotics and pain relief and should be able to be released in 24 hours if the wound shows no sign of infection.
Pied Cormorant
"Doris" collided with a roof at Peregian Beach, she sustained bruising to the left wing and is unable to fly. She has been admitted to the intensive care unit and has been placed on antibiotics and pain relief.
Plovers x 2
Two orphaned plovers were dropped off by a member of the public they were found on Peachester Rd Beerwah. They were admitted to the intensive care unit and are housed in a humidity crib. They are growing stronger everyday.
Goslings x 2
Two baby geese were dropped off by a public member today from Caboolture they were orphaned after their family was attacked by dogs.
Male Pelican
Jackson was admitted to our intensive care unit, he has an old injury which is preventing him from flying. He has been wormed and will be given physio and released within the next two weeks.
Intermediate Egret
"Meredith" was admitted to our intensive care unit suffering from a high infection. Unfortunately she passed away overnight. She was found at Meridian Plains.
Brush Tail Possum
An Adult Male Brush Tail Possum was hit by a car in Landsborough and suffered head trauma. Unfortunately he passed away on the way to veterinary treatment. Thank you to the member of public that reported it to us.
Great Cormorant
Harris was found at Sippy Downs. He is very weak and under weight and has been admitted to the intensive care unit to be fattened up before he is released back to his natural habitat.
Fencing
A team of volunteers worked over two days erecting a new back and side fence to keep the facility safe and secure for all the wildlife in care.
Domestic Chickens
A member of the public surrendered two domestic chickens to us, one was attacked by a lace monitor. She decided to drop them off to us as she wanted them to have a safe place to live. Molly the injured chickens wound is healing well and Milly has integrated with our other chickens well.
Plovers x 3
Three baby plovers found at Morayfield have been admitted to the intensive care unit. They are housed in a humidity crib and are feeding well.
Seagull
"Lego" was rescued at Bulcock Beach he had a hook in the beak. The hook was removed from his beak and was put on a course of antibiotics and pain relief. He is now recuperating in the intensive care unit.
Laundry Gets A Makeover
A group of local volunteers assisted in constructing a new laundry off the intensive care unit. Three days of work and they had it completed. A big thanks to everyone that assisted.
Darter
A juvenile Darter was transferred from Stradbroke Island. He was suffering from weakness and dehydration. He has been admitted to the intensive care unit.
Great Cormorant
Albert was found at Sippy Downs, he was very weak. He was admitted to the intensive care unit and placed on a heat source and force fed. Unfortunately Albert passed away overnight.
Honeyeaters x 2
Two baby honeyeaters were found on the ground at Landsborough. They have been taken into care and are being raised by one of our carers.
Pied Cormorant
Phoenix was rescued from Rainbow Beach suffering from weakness. Unfortunately he passed away overnight.
Concrete Slabs
A group of local volunteers assisted with the laying of concrete slabs for aviaries for the pre release area. Thanks guys a job well done!
Wood Ducklings x 2
Two wood ducklings were transferred from a wildlife carer from Bribie Island. They were orphaned they have been integrated with other orphaned ducklings that are in care.
Purple Swamp Hen
A purple swamp hen from Beachmere came into care due to being an orphan. He was very weak and had a leg injury. He was admitted to the intensive care unit, but unfortunately he passed away overnight.
Wood Duckling
An orphaned wood duck was picked up from Deception Bay. She has been admitted to our intensive care unit and integrated with other orphaned ducklings.
