"Charlie
Brown" came into care on the 26/08/2009 from Victoria
Point. He has sustained extensive nerve damage to his
right wing possibly from being hit by a car or a boat
strike. He was admitted to our intensive care unit and
given physiotherapy everyday and had shown no signs of
improvement. The Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital
performed an operation on his wing and was in care for a
few months. We released Charlie Brown on the Pre-Release
dam on the 12/11/2009 and he has not left, he has become
a permanent resident.
"Ivan" was rescued from Chinchilla on the 28/03/2010. He
had a leg fracture and had to be operated on at the
Australia Zoo Wildlife hospital, where they inserted a
pin into his eg to assist the healing process. Ivan was
in our intensive care unit for two months then
transferred to our pre-release area for rehabilitation
before being released on the 6/62010.
"Jordie"
and "Hoppy" were brought over from Tangalooma Island.
Both these birds had internal tackle and were operated
on to remove the tackle and admitted to our intensive
care unit for ongoing treatment before being transferred
to our pre-release area for rehabilitation. They have
been released back on Tangalooma Island and are doing
well.
